his was an short and easy read — if you enjoy parables， this book should definitely be on your reading list。 The Alchemist follows the story of a young shepherd Santiago， as he travels to Egypt in search of treasure。 Along the way， he learns more about pursuing ones “personal legend”， finding his own soul of the world， and fate。 This was a simple story that talks about personal conviction/purpose in an interesting way and the natural progression of fear when you pursue your dreams。 However， it w his was an short and easy read — if you enjoy parables， this book should definitely be on your reading list。 The Alchemist follows the story of a young shepherd Santiago， as he travels to Egypt in search of treasure。 Along the way， he learns more about pursuing ones “personal legend”， finding his own soul of the world， and fate。 This was a simple story that talks about personal conviction/purpose in an interesting way and the natural progression of fear when you pursue your dreams。 However， it was rather one dimensional as it’s main message was the universal “follow your dreams no matter what and the universe will conspire to help you” which wasn’t really groundbreaking at all… and the writing style wasn’t the most digestible either 😐。 This book is definitely a knowledge book and good if you need some grounding in your life and want to be encouraged in a metaphorical way。 Note: the novel was translated from Portuguese， so it’s likely things were lost in translation。 。。。more
